Sergio Sanchez took the mound for the second time in the series after a rough outing in Tuesday’s opener.

The right-hander out of San Cristobal, Dominican Republic, lasted four innings while allowing 11 runs in an eventual 16-4 loss his first time facing Ottawa.

This time around, the Titans loaded the bases after Sanchez walked leadoff man Kaiden Cardoso, surrendered a single to Myles Smith and was charged with a pitch-clock violation for ball four to AJ Wright.

Facing Rainer Nuñez with the bases loaded and no outs, Sanchez recorded the first out on a lineout to second before walking Hunter Stokely to force home a run and make it 5-1.

With the bases still loaded and one out, Taylor Wright lifted a fly ball deep enough to plate Smith and make it 5-2 before Payne II threw out Stokely attempting to steal second to end the frame.

Ottawa found offensive success again in the bottom of the third as consecutive singles by Cardoso and Smith put two aboard before a walk to AJ Wright loaded the bases.

Sanchez recorded the first out on a popup to first before Stokely grounded a ball back to the pitcher, who threw home to force out Cardoso for out number two.

With the bases still loaded and two outs, Sanchez committed a balk with Taylor Wright at the plate to force home a run.

Wright then singled to plate another, trimming Mississippi’s advantage to 7-4 before Sanchez recorded the final out.

Sanchez walked Ferroggiaro to begin the bottom of the fourth before a wild pitch during Fukuda’s at-bat pushed him to second.

Fukuda grounded out for the first out, advancing Ferroggiaro to third.

Cardoso then lifted a fly ball deep enough for a sacrifice fly as Ferroggiaro tagged and scored to make it 14-5.

Back-to-back two-out walks to Smith and AJ Wright followed as Sanchez issued his sixth and seventh free passes of the afternoon.

Nuñez then connected on a two-run double to cut Mississippi’s lead to 14-7 before Stokely added an RBI single to plate Nuñez and make it 14-8.

Sanchez recovered to strike out Taylor Wright for the final out of the inning.

Jack Kalisky took over for the Titans in the top of the fifth and retired Mississippi in order.

The Mud Monsters turned to their bullpen in the bottom half as Brayden Sanders took over on the mound.

Sanchez finished his start going 4.0 innings while allowing eight runs on six hits and seven walks while striking out one.

Sanders continued his outing into the bottom of the sixth and, after recording the first two outs, walked AJ Wright.

Nuñez followed with an RBI double before Sanders finished the inning with Mississippi ahead 20-9.

Payne II led off the top of the seventh with a single, becoming just the fourth Mud Monsters player to collect five hits in a game.

The rookie utilityman out of San Jose, California, joined Skinner and Paz, who accomplished the feat earlier this season, as well as Victor Diaz, who recorded five hits in a game in 2025.

Dallas Woolfolk took over for Sanders in the bottom of the seventh and posted a 1-2-3 inning to hold the advantage.

Jase Schueller took over on the mound in the bottom of the eighth, replacing Woolfolk.

Cardoso singled with one out before Schueller hit Smith with a pitch to put two Titans aboard.

The rookie right-hander struck out the next batter for out number two, but Nuñez blasted a three-run home run to cut Mississippi’s advantage to 23-12.

After the Mud Monsters were held scoreless in the top of the ninth, southpaw John Walsh took the mound in the bottom half searching for the final three outs to close out Mississippi’s first road trip to Canada.

Walsh recorded the first out before Jake Steels singled, Ferroggiaro walked and Fukuda reached on an error to load the bases.

The southpaw struck out Cardoso with the bases loaded for out number two before Smith singled to plate a pair and make it 23-14.

AJ Wright followed with a single, but Walsh came back to strike out Nuñez for the final out, securing the record-breaking 23-14 victory and a 3-3 series split to conclude Mississippi’s first-ever trip to Canada.
