PEARL, Miss. (Aug. 16, 2026) - The Mississippi Mud Monsters have announced the activation of right-handed pitcher Braden Forsyth from the 7-Day Injured List.

Back in the Bullpen

Forsyth returns after being sidelined since August 9.

The second-year Mud Monster has made 20 appearances out of Mississippi’s bullpen this season, striking out 33 batters across 32.1 innings of work.

Forsyth had been sidelined since August 9.

The Coldwater, Mississippi native attended Magnolia Heights High School in Senatobia, Mississippi, before beginning his collegiate career at Meridian Community College in Meridian, Mississippi.

Mississippi Roots

The right-hander struck out 79 batters at Meridian Community College.

While pitching for the Eagles, Forsyth compiled 79 strikeouts in just 45.1 innings before making the jump to the NCAA level with the University of Mississippi in 2020.

Forsyth spent two seasons with Ole Miss, working primarily as a closer. During the COVID-shortened 2020 season, the right-hander led the SEC with five saves, a mark that ranked fifth nationally.

College Journey

Forsyth finished his NCAA career with stops at Tampa and Houston.

Forsyth spent his junior and senior seasons with two different NCAA programs, playing the 2022 season with the University of Tampa before transferring to the University of Houston for 2023.

The right-hander began his professional career the same year he concluded his collegiate career, joining the Great Falls Voyagers in 2023.

Forsyth spent parts of three seasons with the Voyagers before returning home to Mississippi and joining the Mud Monsters in 2025.

Experienced Arm Returns

Forsyth’s return provides manager Jay Pecci with another experienced option out of the Mississippi bullpen as the Mud Monsters conclude their series with the Washington Wild Things and prepare for their first-ever road trip to Canada.

Following tonight’s finale against Washington, Mississippi begins a six-game series against the Ottawa Titans on Tuesday, August 18.
