Not everything at the ballpark is supposed to make sense. Fish definitely doesn’t. That’s kind of the point.
Something from the swamp
Fish is the official mascot of the Mississippi Mud Monsters, a living, dancing, T-shirt-launching reminder that sometimes the best parts of baseball don’t come from the rulebook.
With the whiskers of a catfish, the fins of a gar, and the general energy of something that probably shouldn’t exist, Fish fits right in at a ballpark that was never meant to be ordinary.
Nobody really knows
Ask around and you’ll get a different answer every time. Some say Fish showed up after a lightning storm and a well-timed foul ball. Others think he’s been out there the whole time, watching, waiting, practicing slides in the mud.
What everyone agrees on is this. When the Mud Monsters arrived, Fish decided it was time.
Part myth, all energy
These days, Fish is everywhere. High-fiving fans, dancing when nobody asked him to, launching T-shirts into the crowd, and keeping a close eye on any unattended nachos.
His signature Mudslide Shuffle shows up when you least expect it, usually at exactly the right time.
He’s not just a mascot. He’s Fish. Straight from the swamp. Right on time.
